Elon Musk has hypomania": Dr. Drew Pinsky explains the "abnormal" actions of the Tesla CEO
Dr. Drew Pinsky, an expert in addiction medicine, explained Elon Musk's strange conduct that led to a heated argument with President Donald Trump. Dr. Pinsky stated that there are other types of Asperger's syndrome when he appeared on Newsmax to talk about Elon Musk's Asperger's syndrome, which Musk acknowledged on Saturday Night Live in 2021. According to Dr. Pinsky, he admires Elon Musk, has read his biography, and believes he is a wonderful man who has achieved great success. However, he also acknowledged that Musk likely suffers from hypomania.
According to Dr. Pinsky, he learned about Musk's episodes of hypomanic episodes from his biography, during which he worked for hours on end without taking a nap. Like many successful people, Musk most likely suffers from hypomania. A person with hypomania runs the risk of developing mania, which is characterized by irritability and a lack of risk assessment, which prevents them from understanding the importance or consequences of their actions. Dr. Pinsky added, "Is he bipolar, I don't know," to what Donald Trump referred to as the Trump Derangement System.
Trump said Musk is likely missing the White House and suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome, a term he coined to characterize the state of his critics, in reference to Musk's outburst over the Big, Beautiful Bill. The Newsmax panel added that Asperger's syndrome is linked to an inability to accept change, so it wasn't just a funny remark.
Angry on his social media platform X, Elon Musk called Donald Trump a liar and ungrateful person before making the outrageous claim that the administration was not releasing the Epstein Files because Trump was named in them. Apparently, this made the conflict irreparable, and Donald Trump refused to discuss Elon Musk at all. Musk removed that specific post one day later.
Musk said he grew up with Asperger's syndrome and talked extensively about it. One time he said, "I used to take things very literally because I didn't understand the social cues." When he noticed that people were not saying what they meant, he took his time.
